HI doctor
My baby is 7 months old... I hve not given her pneumococcal vaccine to her as my peadiatrician said it is optional to give this vaccine... Is it neccessary to give the vaccine or is there any way to give this vaccine now if it is essentially needed?

Hi Dear
Welcome to the HCM.
Vaccine are the preventive tools for the dreaded possible diseases,
Any time any child can be pray of such diseases.
Then why not to protect our child by just shedding some money.
These vaccines are imported, marketed and licenced in india.
Optional vaccine does not mean they are useless.
Optional means Govt of India is not providing these vaccines in there hospital for free use just because of cost constraint.
All these vaccines are well recommended by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics.
Hope now will not take these vaccine lightly. and if affordability is these then your child should be vaccinated with all these vaccines(recommended by IAP)
THANKS
