Hi My son is in Indonesia and has been diagnosed with Dengue Fever . This is day 7 for him and he is even more exhausted today. Is this normal and when should his wbc and platelete count improve?

Thanks for your query. You probably have viral fever. But, it can also be Dengue fever if you develop rashes on your body. Take levocetrizine and paracetamol if it is simply viral fever. If you develop rashes, consult your doctor immediately.

Hi. Dengue fever usually causes sever fatigue and loss of appetite. It may take few months to recover fully. During recovery you should not take spicy food, needs good rest. Dengue is a self-limiting disease. So do not worry about your symptoms. I wonder as to why are you taking the medicines you are taking. Do you really need them, if yes - for what have you been prescribed?
