Pregnant, Pressure In Lower Abdomen, Pain. Is This Normal?
Hello, I m 22 weeks & 5 days pregnant and it s been 2 days of discomfort & I m starting to worry. I feel a lot of pressure in my lower abdomen & some sharp pains on the lower and lower right side of the abdomen as well. It s not cramps nor contractions, it s just pain. The doctor told me the baby was breech about 3 days ago & I know he/she is trying to move around but is this normal?? Thank youً.
Hello
Thank you for your query.
Some amount of pain and pressure in the second trimester of pregnancy is common.
This is because the uterus grows out of the pelvis into the abdomen.
The ligaments, nerves and muscles stretch and cause mild discomfort and pain.
Added gastritis, indigestion also cause pain.
however if you are feeling more than tolerable pain and pressure, it could be the earliest sign of a miscarriage.
I think you need to consult your obstetrician who would examine you and let you know if there is any need to worry.
take care.
