on occasion in the past i have had sharp "pulse" (not pulsing-just one solid wave) of pain over my right ear that is enough to make me shut my eyes for a few seconds until the wave is gone. it is a very pointed area of pain-then it will go away. a while back i began hearing a crisp suction sound over that ear accompanied by pain and a fluid draining sensation under the skin in that area about 1 to 2 inches above the right ear. in the last few days this pain has turned into an electrical sound and "current" feeling that runs from the area well over the ear to below my ear. this has a very crisp sound and is very painful for a second. i experienced this pain a while back alone in my office and it prompted me to go to emergency room for fear i was having some kind of stroke. an mri revealed that all was normal best they could tell. i will be following up with a neurologist in a few months when my new family insurance is in place-but in the meantime this new electrical sound and feeling is so painful i want to make sure im not ignoring something serious.any thought into what this could be would be great
hello. please dont worry , it is likely that the pain may not even be due to an ear problem and may be radiating form nearby structures like teeth. please meet your ENT doctor, he will order some tests and help you further. could you also tell me whether you have any hearing loss or giddiness?thanks
