Hi and thanks for the query,
The treatment or management, I am afraid, requires both drugs and psychotherapy. It would be important to complete the evaluation by doing a test for Helicobacter Pylori testing, considered the commonest cause of gastritis. In case of positivity, a therapy to eradicate this germ, usually involving three antibiotics (Amoxicillin, Metronidazole and Proton pump inhibitors could be prescribed). Depression needs to be treated accordingly, for stress could aggravate gastritis lesions. Staying for long times without eating, eating very stomach aggressive foods (pepper, alcohol, drugs) should be avoided. The opinion of his treating physician, who shall take into consideration specific aspects of his medical history, is needed to draw an appropriate treatment and follow up plan. Kind regards.

General & Family Physician Dr. Dr.Albana Sejdini's  Response
Hi,

The very first thing is to be in close contact with a local GI specialist as the treatment would take time.

There are some recommendations I'd give for her regarding the eating habits:

- avoid eating spicy, chillies, yogurt, citrus foods or drinks

- avoid eating honey as it would aggravate the symptoms

- avoid coffee, carbonated drinks, etc

- eat often and small portions

- do not lay down immediately after eating

- have your dinner at least 4 hours before going to bed

Hope it helped!
