What Is The Reason For Having No Bowel Movements And Pain In Right Upper Quadrant And Back ?

I have pain in right upper quadrant and back . over the past year my bowels have stopped working for no known reason on a number of occasions. Pain is now going up back as well. I had a colonoscopy back in April that was ok. Recently had ultrasound of right side and abdomen. Ok . Pain is pretty constant but worse today.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
I would come up with these possibilities for this pain , these includes .
1 Intestinal obstruction ( sub clinical intestinal obstruction ) ,not complete . Usually due to no apparent reason some times intestine overlaps another part and develops intestinal obstruction causes intense pain and bulging in abdomen .Some times relieve itself , while other time require surgery.Usually projectile vomiting and rapid intestine movements are responsible for such condition.
2 The 2nd possibility may be renal stone , diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound as sometimes transparent stone don't visualize in ultrasound , so require M RI or contrast M R I.
3 Urinary tract infection also develops such type of pain .Diagnosis can be confirmed by urine culture .
In my opinion consult a urologist and get his opinion regarding renal problem.
Good luck.
