My husband recently had stitches on his toe. It has been about 3 weeks now and its getting red and starting to pus up near the stitches.
Thanks for contacting HCM. I am sorry to hear that your husband stitches were placed 3 weeks ago and they are now becoming infected. Stitches should be removed 7-10 days after being placed. From your description it sound like the stitches are now infected and he may need antibiotics in addition to having the stitches removed. I recommend you seek medical attention.
What does white skin next to recent stitches indicate?
Hi If there is no pain at the stitches site and fever,do not worry. Sometimes,the area of stitches get infected. Then,there will be oozing of pus. Just white skin near recent stitches is normal.It may come to normal skin size in course of time. Nothing to worry Wish you good health Regards
