Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. The pus and redness means infection set in due to carelessness. Apply some antiseptic cream ( gel). Antibiotics & anti inflammatory drugs are necessary. Consult a doctor and take treatment . 5-7 days treatment is sufficient. Good luck. Dr. HET

This can be the infection of the ear cartilage. It is associated with redness and pain Another possibility is that the child may be allergic to the material of the ring. I would advice not to re insert the ring. Let the redness and swelling subside. If it is progressive it may need visit to your doctor for treatment of the infection with the antibiotics.
