Undergone TURP Surgery. Burning Sensation In Urethra While Urinating. All Tests Normal. Suggested Cystoscopy. Reason?
Hi, My father went TURP sergery six months back. Operation is well no side effects. But still he feels burning sensation in the urethra every time he urinates. We have consulted with urologist as well he gave some medicines as well but still no use. Also he conducted some tests like urine culture , uroflowmetry test, bladder scan. Everything is normal. Now Urologist suggested to have cystoscopy . Can you please advise what could be the reason. what are the treatment for this. Should we do Cystoscopy?
Hello
Thanks for your query.Your father had undergone TURP for enlarged Prostate.6 months back and has burning while passing urine. This could be due to flimsy stricture of urethra that happens due to instrumentation of the Urethral passage during endoscopic surgery.Since most of the causes are ruled out please go ahead and get Cystoscopy done to find out the cause for the same.
