My husband has clusters of red bumps %28 ranging in size%29 on both sides of his hips. He said they are a little painful.

These bumps are on both side of butts , so may be due to allergy, diabetes, staphylococcal infection.
Consult a dermatologist and get his opinion as physical examination is very important.
