Hi ! I am Dr Shareef answering your querry.
Most likely you have sprained your ligaments of the ankle which has formed a hematoma which is tender to touch. However there could be a chip fracture in the ankle which might give similar symptoms. In both the cases you have to show to an orthopaedic surgeon who may apply a resting/walking plaster, an anti inflammatory and advice for X ray if need be.

ANY SURGERY, SPECIALLY BONE SURGERY TAKES AVERY LONG TIME TO HEAL.SO YOU MUST HAVE SOME PATIENCE.TILL YOUR FRACTURE HEALS THE SCREWS WILL BE PLACED AND BECAUSE OF THIS YOUR ANKLE WILL BE SWOLLEN.AND U WILL FIND IT STIFF DUE TO IMMOBILITY.WAIT TILL EVERYTHING HEALS AND THE SCREWS REMOVED .THEN YOUR SWELLING WILL SUBSIDE AND FOR THE STIFFNESS YOU CAN GO FOR PHYSIOTHERAPY EXERCISES.
