You possibly have pharyngitis, throat infection. This can cause both throat and ear pain. You should start a course of antibiotics, and decongestants. Gargling with warm salty water would be helpful.

Heaviness over tongue and throat suggest there is an inflamation. Any inflamation at the back of the tongue can cause ear blockage and pain.
It could be a upper respiratory infection. You need to be on antibiotics and steam inhalation.
