I had a balloon angioplasty done and intubation when I was under anaesthesia. Why is my voice still hoarse after 5 weeks. Been to gp
there might be some edema/injury/infection after removal of laryngeal polyp; you need to see an ENT specialist...!

how long can it take for voice to come back after intubation? its been 2 weeks my voice is still hoarse. my gp said to give it time and didnt give me anything..
Hello, I agree with your GP. The vocal cords, that have been damaged need their time to regenerate, and that may take up to 1 month. You should start getting better. try to not cause tiredness to your voice, by avoiding shouting of singing for long periods. If you get worse, see your doctor again. Take care.

how do you get rid of hoarseness fast after intubation, its been 4 weeks. i 've been doctor. I know it needs time to heal but how can I get rid of it
Hello there, Hoarseness of voice post intubation is due to the larynx(voice box) being sore.It would take time but you can do this to fasten your recovery. 1)Avoid alcohol, hot tea, coffee or very cold drinks. Drink fluids which are lukewarm 2) Chew food slowly and swallow. do not have very spicy food or sour food. 3) Do voice exercises which would be demonstrated by a speech therapist. DR Arun A
