i need definition and brief description of orocutaneous fistula that can develop as a complication of submandibular intubation in maxillofacial trauma patients
Hi Welcome to HealthcareMagic Orocutaneous fistula is an abnormal connection between the oral cavity and the outside skin. Infection from the oral cavity can spread to the skin if it is the path of least resistance creating an abnormal tract. It is commonly seen in trauma to the facial bones. This can be rectified with simple surgery. Regards
