Persistent Cough For 6 Weeks. Taking Cipro And Mucinex, No Improvement. Recommendations?

I have had a persistant cough for about 6weeks. It started with just a slight tickle in my chest, with nonproductive cough, but sounded wet when I breath deep. I took Cipro and mucinex for 7 days. 2 weeks after, my cough has gotten worse, feels deep in my chest, I have coughing spells but only cough up clear/white frothy sputum. And I never feel relief, it just feels like it keeps getting worse. Now I have sneezing, sinus congestion , clear mucus, and fatigue from coughing. I'm 39 y/o.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi ! It could be a allergic bronchitis with super added infection. In allergic bronchitis, there could be some broncho spasm which may be responsible for your unrelenting cough as you have been prescribed any bronchodilator drug till now. But to know if you have got broncho spasm, you have to get yourself examined by your family physician, who may advise you a brocho dilator drug along with nebulisation and an anti allergic preparation, which will relieve your cough. WIshing you an early recovery.

Hi,
Thanks for contacting HCM
You have
Persistent cough for 6 weeks.
Taking cipro and mucinex, no improvement.
Better to rule out the tuberculosis , therefor consult the Physician.

Thanks
