What Causes High Cholesterol And SGPT Levls?

Hello Sir,
I get my liver enzymes and cholesterol tested quite regularly. Though, they have constantly above the limit for quite some time now (just a little above), I didn't take any precautionary measures and the levels have just shot up.

I am 22 years old. I started drinking around 2 years back, but in am not a regular drinker. I drink once in 20 days and I prefer beer over other alcohol. Also I started smoking four months back and over the last three months, I have been lighting 5-7 cigs daily. (However, I have almost been smoke and alcohol free for the past one month) and when I got myself tested a week back, I realised that over the past five months, my SGPT level had risen up from 87 to 164 and SGOT from 50 to 75. Also my total cholesterol is 233 (upper limit should be 200).

I do not take any medications.

What could have been the primary reason?? What do I do now?!

I do know what sgot and sgpt are. But I would like an advice specific to my situation.

Thank You

hello and welcome
first of all since you are able to maintain your normal life style there is no immediate worry
please tell us your weight, because obesity can produce such results.
-even if your body weight is normal you should undergo testing for hepatitis B & C virus
- you should also have a ultrasonography examination of your liver.
consult your physician
- once the diagnosis is made , treatment plan can be made
thanks
