CT Scan Of Lung Done. Anything To Worry?

My father had a CT scan of his lung, and the finding is "a coarse reticular infiltrate within the base of the right lung with involvement of the right middle lobe and right lower lobe. This is most likely related to chronic interstitial lung disease potentially related to previous episode of pulmonary infection or inflammation." Is this anything to worry about?

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

Coarse reticular pattern involvement of lungs are due to chronic interstitial lung disease.
Interstitial lung disease may be due to variety of reasons and prognosis depends accordingly.
In your case if it is due to previous infection then it may be considered as sequele of past infection and it can be take as non serious.
But if any other factors are involved then definitely it need treatment and clinical opinion.

Take Care
