Does Taking Insulin Cause Organ Damage?

i AM TYPE 2 DIABETIC ON iNSULIN. MY AC1 TESTS ARE 6.2. MY DR. IS PLEASED BUT I HAVE HEARD THAT TAKING INSULIN CAUSES ORGAN DAMAGE. IS THIS TRUE? ALSO, MY FAST ACTING INSULIN TAKES ABOUT 2 HRS. TO LOWER MY BLOOD SUGAR,SO I HAVE TO WAIT THAT LONG TO EAT BREAKFAST. I INJECT IN MY STOMACH, AND I AM VERY OVERWEIGHT. WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG? THIS ONLY HAPPENS WITH MY MORNING SHOT. I TAKE HUMULIN 70/30 MIX AT A.M. AND P.M.

dear your blood sugar control is very appropriate. and insulin does not cause any organ damage and humulin 70/30 insulin is moderate acting so it doesnt have to do anything with meals so you can have meals on your timings. infact if you inject insulin at 7am in morning you can have your breakfast at 7:30am and vice versa(p.s you inject humulin 70/30 12 hours apart). you dont need to check your sugar levels daily if your hbA1c is good however to keep a check i would advise you to check your fasting sugar and pre dinner sugar once in a week your fasting should range between 60-110 and your random/pre dinner sugar levels should range between 80-140. however the question is you are the candidate for insulin or not and there are other alternate once only insulin available. and since alot of research is going on to cure diabetes and many new regimes are approved by FDA and no. of regimes are under trial. but i would be able to guide you best if i am aware of your diabetes history. all the best hope you find my answer helpful
thanks
