Chest pain when coughing
There are a few possibilities. You may have pulled a muscle in your chest or bruised a rib or cartilage. You may have inflamed lungs if you have had a recent chest infection. I suggest you take paracetamol and ibuprofen for the pain. If the pain does not improve after 5 days, see your doctor.

Thanks for writing to us.
The inflammation cannot cause a heart attack. The chest pain can happen due to the inflammation.
