Smoked Cigarette After Abdominal Surgery. Will The Stomach Get Infected?
I recently smoked a cigarette after abdomibal surgery.
My husband freaked out and called the doctor wich in turn has the doctor calling me freaking out.. saying my stomach was going to f get infected. snd I would need to go and get everything removed. I have not smoked since but all in all everyone is treating me like crap.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M.Forum. Since cigarette smoking don't develop any infection in abdomen. The cigarette smoking develops irritation in airways and hence may cause cough. Cough produces pressure over abdominal muscles and due to pressure over abdomen, sutures ( applied for surgery) may rupture , this is the real danger. As all were your well wisher so due to their concern they told these things. Good luck. Dr. HET
