Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

type 1 diabetes indeed has a genetic corelation. many studies have shown that the first step relatives of a diabetic patient may develop diabetes at some stage.

the best possible way to avoid diabetes would be to control the diet, control the weight.

a good idea would be to have a periodic check of sugars. you see, detecting a disease is half the battle won.
i mean if it is detected early, the sugars can be controlled well, thereby reducing the further complications of diabetes

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.
