Hi, Its very normal. It means placenta is attached to posterior wall of uterus and maturing normally. Grade I means Small intraplacental calcification randomly dispersed within the substance of a placenta. May appear as early as 14 weeks, and is most common until 34 weeks. Regards

Hi.Grades I and II (minor) may be able to deliver vaginally;Grades III and IV (major) will require Caesarean section by the most experienced obstetrician.However the management depends on the ultrasound report at 39 weeks because the placenta might move up(it might be grade 1) with time.Nothing to worry.This is assessed to plan -baby has to be delivered normally or by surgery(cesarean section)
