Heroin Induced Schizophrenia. Taking Vitamins And Herbs. Is There A Different Solution?

Hi, My name is Dianne, and I am looking for a natural way to help my son who has heroin induced schizophrenia. He has not responded to any traditional medication, and is getting worse. I am looking to help him heal his brain through vitamins and herbs in order to help balance and repair his brain from 4 years of heroin abuse. Can you help?
Thanks,
Dianne

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello

Drug induced schizophrenia can occur due to cocaine or also due to amphetamines. It can occur due to cannabis abuse also and in some people due to heroin abuse. Paranoid symptoms are commonly seen in such situations. Best cure of such symptoms is antipsychotic medicines like olanzapine, resperidone, haloperidol etc. Vitamines, herbs can help to improve nerve conditions but they are not the definitive treatment of schizophrenia. He might have developed acute psychotic disorder due to heroin abuse so best is to consult a Psychiatrist for detailed treatment.

Thanks
