Gout In Right Ring Finger. Suggestions On The Food To Avoid And Eat ?

I have gout in my right ring finger. This happened for the first time about 3 months ago. I am so confused b what I can eat and can not eat. Your site has opposite foods from another site. For instance, the other site says I may eat shell fish but not fish. Can you give me any definites? I love wine in the eve. (2) and I love crabs and shrimp lobster. What really made my gout flare was asparagus! It affected the finger next to my ring finger and Quite painful.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Gout is caused by an increase in uric acid. Uric acid is formed from high purine foods.
Foods high in purines are: shell fish, smelt, sweetbreads, sardines

Foods moderately high include: anchovies, haddock, trout , scallops, mutton, veal, liver, bacon, salmon, kidney, turkey

You should also avoid sodas and other beverages that contain high fructose corn syrup.

It is important to use alot of fluids to maintain hydration.

If there is any excess weight , weight loss will help.

I hope this helps
