What Could Be The Cause Of Irritation In Feet With Skin Peeling Off?

I have a problem with irritation with the bottom of my feet. My feet are not scaly. If my feet get too hot and I have socks or shoes my foot continue itching and wanting to take shoes or socks off that would help for a minute. I do try and get some of the dead skin off my heal but the rest of my feet are soft and not scaly

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM.

I would keep a possibility of Xerosis(Dry skin) of feet but i would also like to rule out fungal infection of the sole.

It would have been very helpful if you had mentioned that whether this problem is only on one side or is it bilateral. Fungal infections are usually unilateral.

Fungal infections of the sole can present with minimal OR localized scaling.

Therefore i would advice that you see a dermatologist who might order a KOH scarping from the scale to either confirm or rule out fungal infection.

Treatment will be guided by the test result.

Meanwhile an oral antihistamine like cetrizine once daily will help you with the itch part

take care
regards
