I have swollen tonsils and enlarged taste buds in the back of my tongue
Hi, you are having enlarged lingual papillae over the posterior aspect of tongue with hypertrophied tonsils. If it's acute infection, then treat it Wight Pennicillin antibiotics+anti inflammatory medicines like paracetamol + diclofenac combination drugs twice daily for 5 days.if it's chronic infection causing enlarged papillae, then do not worry. Enlarged tonsils can be surgically removed.

If you have not taken any antibiotics, you should take one for a few days(i usually give azithromycin/amoxycillin+calvulonate to my patients, along with analgesics). If you have already taken, try a different one.If multiple attempts failed, you pleas get it examined by an ENT surgeon. It may need intavenous antibiotics, some minor surgical procedures.use warm saline gargles .avoid cold drinks. Thank U.
