Have Taste Issues. Tastes Like Rancid. Taking Vitamin D3, Fish Oil. Cure For Symptoms?

I am suddenly having taste issues. On the left side (only) of my mouth, when eating anything sweet it tastes rancid or terribly bitter. The right side tastes fine although it is difficult to keep anything on just one side of the mouth. Natural sweet, such as an apple, tastes somewhat bad but is palatable. On the other hand, something like candy such as chocolate makes me cringe and I cannot eat at all. This has been occurring for about 2 months now. I am not taking anything other than vitamin d3 and fish oil in the morning. I don't know if I should see a dentist or a medical doctor? Also, could it be something serious or just a phase my tastebuds are going through?

Hello,
Usually altered taste sensation is associated with impacted wisdom tooth which is inflamed.
Please do visit a dentist and get a thorough clinical as well as x-ray evaluation.
Impacted tooth if present, has to be either extracted or flap overlying tooth has to be removed to enhance tooth eruption.
Grossly decayed teeth has to be extracted.
Maintain oral hygiene well.Rinse your mouth after every meals.
Swish with lukewarm saline.
Take care.
