hi,welcome to healthcare magic forum,there are many causes for dilated carotid artery like-carotid body tumor,carotid aneurysm,cervical rib,thoracic outlet syndrome,aortic aneurysm,dissecting aortic aneurysm,syphilitic aortic aneurysm,carotid artery venous fistula,carotid arteritis,carotid artery trauma,post operative(radical neck dissection),angiosarcoma etc.
Last week i had what they think was a TIA. I am a healthy 42 yr old that works out. Today i keep getting goose bumps on my left leg. I do have WPW.
MOst common cause of a TIA is narrowing of the Carotid Arteries. If you have been having transient vision loss, weakness, blackouts etc, then you need to get and ultrasound of the carotids to check for narrowing
I get dizzy or feint feelings. I have black out of time. Tested negative sleep apnoea and epilepsy. Blood end ecg normal.
Do rule out circulatory deficiencies in case of carotid artery atheromas. You may have to get a carotid Doppler for the same.
