Condition called prenatal hydronephrosis.
Causes might be obstructive or non obstructive.
Most common causes are
1. Vesicoureteral reflex.
2. Uretero pelvic junction obstruction in the kidney
3. Presence of abnormal posterior urethral valves
4. Could be transient.
So ultrasound is must to really rule out whether its a large kidney and accordingly work up for the above mentioned reasons.
