The term SGPT stands for Serum Glutamic Pyruvate Transaminase. This is an enzyme that is found in the cells of the liver.
An elevation in the level of SGPT alone is not a confirmation of a diagnosis of liver damage.
It may be increased due to Recent Exercise and Drugs.
