Diagnosed With Crohn S. Had 4 Sinus Surgeries, Found Mold Growing In Upper Sinus Cavity, Removed But Head Aches

I have been diagnosed with crohns - on another note I have had 4 sinus surgeries int he past 6 months and the last surgery, a month ago today, they found a mold growing in my upper sinus cavity - they removed the mold and I have had repeated headaches all of which they said would get better with healing. My gastro dr told me he wanted to hold off on any strong therapy for my crohns to see what results of surgery was. None of my blood tests showed any sign of infection, etc and that makes me wonder how Icould have mold growing in my body and it not show up until this last surgery. I watch what I eat very carefully, however, my crohns has not acted up at all since my last sinus surgery. I thought maybe perhaps the mold was causing most of my issues. tonite I ate a meal that I would not normally eat and 4 hours later I try to lay down and start having reflux. I end up throwing up bile, etc and then loose everything. This is where I was 5 weeks ago. I know I am probably rambling but I just don t know what to do

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.

You seem to have at least two or three issues, at the same time, which are causing problems.

The first two are related to gastroenterology- the Crohn's disease and the reflux esophagitis. Both these conditions can be well treated by your gastroenterologist.

The third issue is related to sinus infection. Since this is a local infection affecting the sinuses, the fungus may not grow in the blood. However, it needs treatment with antibiotics and anti-fungals. You are likely to improve fast with medical treatment.
I hope it helps. Please get back if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
