What Do The Findings In The CT Scan Suggest?

my ct scan showed focally prominent dilatation right temporal horn 2.0 cm by 1.3 cm in axial dimension and 1.0 cm in height. Left temporal horn normal in size . what does that usually mean? I had an mri done with and without contrast ( as recommended) but my neurologist appointment is in three weeks...

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

From your report I suspect that you might have a small arachnoid cyst at the location of temporal horn of right lateral ventricle. This is a fluid filled space and not a serious condition. Your symptoms must be evaluated in detail with history of any seizures. An EEG may also be done. Even considering that there is no cyst, a prominent right temporal horn may not have any symptoms or may have mild seizures.
