How To Control BP When Suffering From Crohn S Disease?
I had my blood pressure checked and it read 169/93 normally it is 120/80 : my age is 49 and female with long term crohns disease. The only change lately has been an increase in Azathioprine and commenced Budesonide along with normal medication i have been taking for this condition for years. No other health problems. What should maybe do to try and correct this. Ps weight is normal
Azathioprine, like all medications, is associated with potential side effects however it is not known to cause increases in blood pressure. Budesonide can be associated with increases in blood pressure in some persons, so this may contributing to the increase.
You may want to monitor to blood pressure to see if it continues to be elevated. IF it continues then you may want to speak to your doctor about the increase in BP and the possible contribution by your medication.
I hope this helps
