Does Upper Endoscopy Lead To A Panic Attack?

I had a panic attack because not one person was honest with me about what an ordeal a patient goes through with an upper endoscopy. My husband and I were dismissed with an armed escort off hospital premises. Was told to see a psychiatrist. Something seems not right...about this. Not one person answered a single question I had...all I heard was "you won't remember a thing". Can you shed any light upon this. This was at what is considered to be an explemplary hospital in Chattanooga, TN.

Hi. Quite a different and difficult question. The fear does lead to panic attack in an Endoscopy of any sort. Take your time and you will be definitely ready without any problem once you get mentally prepared. This can even be performed under sedation / general anesthesia if you are worried so much.
