How long does it take for smell and taste to return after sinus infection? Is it common to lose smell and taste during a sinus infection?
Yes. It is not common but may occur.
This is due the destruction of the olfactory nerve fibers in the nose that sense the smell.
Once the infection is cleared it may become normal after sometime.
But it varies from individual to individual.
Hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have further queries.
Wishing you good health.
