X Rays Showed No Calcium Buildup On The Broken Metatarsal Of Foot. Why Is The Swelling Not Subsiding?
Hi! My name is Olivia and about 3 weeks ago I broke my 5th metatarsal on my right foot. I now have little to no pain and very little swelling. But I went in for X-rays a couple days ago and my doctor said that there was no calcium build up around the break. Is this because I don t wear my air cast while I sleep? I have only started to walk on my heel 4 days ago and feel no pain, but use crutches when not at home.
HI Thank for asking to HCM I think that you are wrongly understood the doctor must have meant that it is yet to be healed, and it is nothing to take with the calcium mineral, the orthopedic or say bony fracture parts take longer time for healing, when healing starts the newly generated bony tissues start forming around the line of fracture it is kind of calcification, and not exactly calcium mineral, it does not meant that one has to take extra calcium for that, hope you can understand this have nice day.
