What Is The Treatment For Hoarse Voice And Throat Pain?

Hi my throat has been hurting. 10 days ago I went to the ENT and he prescribed methylprednisolone and Amox TR-K CLV. I felt better until about 2 days ago when I stopped the methylprednisolone. I have a follow up appt. on Thursday. It feels like it could be where my glands are located. Also, my voice has been hoarse. The doctor checked my larynx but it was just a little red.

Hi, you have been prescribed steroids for laryngeal inflammation and this is a right line of treatment if vocal cord inflammation is seen on laryngoscopy. This inflammation is usually associated with the pharyngeal inflammation, so the throat pain. The relapse of pain is usually because of partial improvement or a tapper off effect of steroids. Please take hot water steam with proton pump inhibitors and mucolytics and things should improve. Regards
