What Causes Blisters On Toes?

I have developed itchy bumps, almost like blisters, on the pads of my toes, the bottom of the toes and near the top. They are extremely itchy and tender if bumped. They get worse when I wear socks and shoes and are itchier at night. This is a reoccurring problem, I seem to get it every winter. The first time I just thought it was a form of hand foot and mouth disease but as it reoccurs and doesn t appear to affect my hands and mouth I am thinking probably not.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for blisters on toes. After reading your history it appears to be pompholyx with secondary infection at the local site.

You should see a doctor and preferably a dermatologist to rule out any infection at the area. For the time being period you to apply plain antibacterial cream such as fusidic acid or mupirocin (latest is retapamulin) and to take pain killer tablet by mouth for reducing the intensity of pain and redness.

The only precaution you must follow is not to touch, pinch pop or squeeze any of them other wise it can get infected and can cause complications.

Take care.
