how serious is a MRI that shows mild to moderate cervical spinal stenosis and moderate bilateral neural fornaminal stenosis, is it common?
It is part of spinal degenerative changes which are very common. It is not lifethreatening if that's what you mean by serious, but it can cause pain and other bothersome symptoms which with aging tend to worsen and bring some disability. Treatment is with physiotherapy and pain killers, at times when spinal cord or painful nerve root compression not responsive to therapy surgery may be needed.
