What Causes Bumps In The Back Of Tongue?

Hi
I recently started to get a sore throat. Not a severe one though. It also feels as though I have something (like food) stuck in the back of my throat and my throat seems tight, like my airways are closing up. When I looked in the mirror to investigate my throat I noticed that the back of my tongue has a bunch of bumps. I've done some research and I know that these are normal (vallate papillae) but mine have never been so big. The back of my tongue also has a slight white to it..not too bad though. What is going on and how can I get rid of it?

hi
welcome to HCM
i read your query, nothing to worry much but sometime due to inflammation these papillae get enlarge and for that start anti inflammation but if you are finding some white like area than it could be:
if white patch then candidial infection: have to start with anti fungal but
if it is nodule or somthing like that than it can be fibroma or inflammatory reaction.
then you should visit either dentist or ENT surgeon to get removal of that.
thank you
