Suffering From Arthritis, Undergone Surgery In Finger. Will Arthritis Spread To Joints After Injury?

My sister is crippled up with some kind of arthritis in every joint. Fingers, shoulders, knees, feet. It first started when a patient grabbed her finger, then a patients bed came down on that same finger. She had surgery on that finger. She is 62 years old. Can arthritis start & spread to every joint after an injury? We don't have any genetics or family that we know of that has been crippled up like this. Thanks.

Most polyarthritis may be caused by autoimmune disease or following an infection.
