Why Do I Lose Awareness And Memory With My Vision Going Black?

Random episodes since i was 16 years old, i am now 22 year old male, physically active, eat healthy, don't smoke.

Always happens when i have been sitting/laying, for any period of time, more than 1 minute. My vision slowly goes black, i lose awareness/memory of were i am and/or what i am doing. More serious times i start to lose about 50% of control of my muscles along with a delayed reaction. Example being, i tell my arm to move up, and it dose the exact opposite, i quickly realize my arm is moving the wrong was and try to counter it, resulting in a chain reaction of my muscles not listening and me slowly falling to the ground while it appears that i am seizuring. I never lose consciousness, just partially lose control of my body. I am a relaxed person over all, i have no medical conditions. I am more concerned now because it just happened again and it felt like someone stabbed my brain with a knife for a split second, it was very unpleasant.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you are having sudden loss of awareness, black outs of vision lasting for few seconds. These symptoms indicate transient ischemic attacks. The common causes for transient ischemic attacks are hypotension or hypoxia. Transient ischemic attacks may be prodromal symptoms of stroke. Hence they require proper evaluation by a physician to look for the underlying cause and treatment accordingly.

Thank you

Ophthalmologist Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash's  Response
What is happening to you is disorientation. It is a neurological problem since you are having blackout in sleeping posture, it appears to be transient ischeimia of brain. Other probability is you are having hypotension in sleeping or sitting position. This may be postural hypotention. These aspect may be investigated. For disorientation neurologist may be consulted.
