Suffered From A Ruptured Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm.
have you or anyone you know suffered from a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurism? my husband collapsed in such pain was rushed to hospital where they repaired his artery - he came out of hospital last week - we ve had no nurse nor gp round - we have lots of questions and would like to hear other peoples stories - maybe it will help us understand (the surgeon doesnt know what carused it he could have had it from birth ) its more the after care bit and how and when he can begin doing things again etc.
You don't give either your husband's age, smoking history, medical history or medication history if any. All of these would be potentially relevant to the causology. Survival after the aneurysm actually ruptures, even if this occurred in hospital is very rare. I wonder if in fact it dissected, rather than ruptured.
Aortic aneurysms are most common in male smokers over the gae of 65 years with raised blood pressure and raised cholesterol who are overweight and take little exercise.
