Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain in the hip after taking the injection is likely to be due to a local injury in the area caused by the injection itself. You can do a hot fomentation in the area and see if the pain subsides.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The injection that you took in your hip might have caused a local injury in the area like a hematoma formation that is causing the pain. If the pain is severe and persistent then consider getting an MRI scan done.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. K. Naga Ravi Prasad's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.
Hyaluronic acid injections are given into the osteoarthritic joints in an effort to improve joint pain and stiffness. This form of injections form into the category of VISCOSUPPLEMENTATION.

Viscosupplementation is usually tried in patients who do not respond well to conservative line of management with medicines and who are too young to undergo joint replacement surgery ( as in your case ).

This form of treatment will generally provide good pain relief and improved joint function for a period of 12-18 months. This is NOT A DEFINITIVE treatment for osteoarthritis. It simply delays the need for surgical intervention.

"Transient" pain and tingling sensation may be present with the injections and usually resolves spontaneously over a period of time. Use some simple analgesic antiinflammatory medications for pain relief.

If the symptoms persist, consult your treating doctor.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
