What Causes Swelling In The Lower Leg After Total Knee Replacement?

I am 64 years old and had total left knee replacement 1/18/17 and recovered fully. I am 5 11 & 167 lbs. Do not smoke, walk fast 1.5 miles with my dog every AM, lift weights 3 X week and swim 500M 1 X 2 per week. I eat healthy & am conscious about health and longevity. For the last week, my operated lower leg and left foot seems like it is swollen or perhaps retaining fluid. I am unsure if this is normal, as I live in Houston and it is now Summer and very hot, or is this an issue with which to be concerned.
