Throat Infection, Congestion, No Tonsillitis, Took Antibiotic, Septelene. Suggestion?

I am Padam Gupta(Male 57) suffering from throat infection since 5-6 months. Lot of antibiotic medicines I have already taken. However after taking full medicines (as prescribed by the Doctor) I feel comfort for day or two but then again this infection comes and suffers me a lot. As per doctor there are no signs of tonsillitis. I have also taken septelene tabs from Himalaya for three months regular (Two tabs BD) but there is no complete comfort. There is no change in my voice but some time I feel congestion and a little discomfort to swell the food.
What should I do at this stage?

Hello.By the time since the onset of your symptoms is needed to be evaluated by a throat, nose and ear doctor specialist for exploration and request additional test.I think it is necessary to realize a pharyngeal secretion analysis (to know if there is any bacteria) and an pharynx and larynx endoscopy(to check for signs of chronic pharyngeal inflammation or other pathologies)but the doctor specialist will decide.Go to doctor specialist as soon as possible.
I wish you good health.

Hi, Throat infection for 5-6 months with lot of antibiotic means needs further evaluation. This may not be infection but may be irritation due to some other cause. Get done neck scan (specially thyroid), complete haemogram, AEC count and also culture and sensitivity test of the early morning sputum sample with laryngoscopy examination.

Maintain your BMI at normal range with diet, plenty of fluids and exercise. Take Pantoprazole with domperidone every night one tab (For reflux pharyngitis). Get back to us with the report for diagnosis and further management.

Hope this helps you.

i undersatnd your concern regarding infection
1 take plenty of water
2 do salt water gargling that will decrease most of the infection
3 do betadine gargle if not controlling on salt water gargles
4 if still not decreasing you may have to take one more consultatio with ENT specialist
