Should Diamicron Mex XR Be Taken Before Food And After Food?

Hello Doctor,
I am 68 year old man and am a diabetic (type 2) for the last two decades. Four years ago I have undergone CABG.
I was on Amaryl 1mg tab (one tab after b/f and one tab after dinner) as advised by Doctor for the last four years.
Recently, I consulted another Diabetologist who told me that the above medicine was to be taken before food and not after food. He also changed the medicine to DIAMICRON MEX XR 500mg and asked me to take it after food as above.
My doubt is: Should DIAMICRON MEX XR 500mg be taken before food or after food?

Hello,
Diamicron mex xr 500 mg tablets must be taken whole with half a glass of water just before food.

It is preferable to take Diamicron MR before breakfast in order to avoid or minimise the possible onset of digestive problems.

Hope this helps.

Wishing you good health.
