Numbness On Left Side, Eye Hurting, Cause ?
Hi Im a little worried about my friend she has just facetimed me on my ipad and was showing me her face, she the left side is numb and when she smiles only one side goes up.. Her left eye is hurting assell.. Shes only 21 and she was ill few days ago and this numbness has been goin on for 2 days now.. Do you know what it could be

Most likely cause in this case is "Bell's palsy" which is caused from an undetermined viral infection of the optic nerve. There is not treatment and the condition will likely improve partially ---- however, this disease does affect closure of the eye on the affected side meaning that it will tend to dry out and become painful. Treatment involves artificial tear drops and ointments to keep the eye moist. Adequacy of treatment can be determined by her ophthalmologist.

It might be an affection of the facial nerve or the 7th cranial nerve. This is the nerve that controls the sensation from our face to the brain.
Did she have any ear problems recently. If yes, then it can involve the facial nerve.
It would be better to consult an ENT spcialist in your locality so that she may undergo a detailed evaluation and management of the same.
