Yellowish color on roof of mouth, sides seem to be white, itchy and sore throat. Signs of cold?

The roof of my mouth is a yellowish color and the very-back sides, like more towards my throat , is white. I ve had a sore, itchy throat for about 2 day. Could I be getting a cold , or is it something else? Like strep throat? I m only worried because my friend told me he had strep throat a few days ago. (I m 15... if that helps!) Thanks, yo

Hello dear..
Presence of yellowish white spots over throat indicate that you might be having Pharyngitis.
Management includes:
1. Gargle with warm salt water to relieve throat pain.
2. Analgesics like paracetamol
3. Antibiotics like Amoxicillin (to be started depending upon the result of culture sensitivity report of throat swab).
4. Antihistamine preparations can also be used to provide symptomatic relief. will be better to consult an ENT specialist for further management.
Meanwhile...avoid cold food & drinks, maintain adequate hydration & take soft, non-spicy foods.
Wishing a good health & speedy recovery.
Thanks & take care.
