Would The Blood Clot In The Right Groin Area Move?

I have a blood clot in my right groin area. I am taking blood thinner. Should I have a filter in case the blood clot breaks away. How will I know if it is moving? I am 86 , 5ft 10, 200lbs and am very healthy for my age I do not have to take any other meds except the blood thinner.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Blood clot in the groin region can break and lodge at distant site and cause ischemia of the distal site.
Blood thinners help to dissolve the blood clot and keep blood in fluid state as far as possible.
However, you can use filters to prevent the fragments of blood clot to lodge at any narrow site.

You need to consult your treating doctor for clinical assessment and thus treatment.

Thanks and take care
