Worried After A Fall And Large Bumps On Head

My one year old fell off a chair on the back side of her head three days later it s a large squishy bump. She has been fine but should I take her to the ER for a MIR? Why is it squishy like this?

Hi,

It is difficult to predict how an infant responds after a head on fall. The large bump could possibly be a hematoma (blood collection). Since there is no change in the behaviour there may not be worrisome.

However an examination by the local doctor helps than waiting. The need for MRI scan can be decided later after examination.

Regards.
